The End Fed series of antennas was designed to allow effective HF operation in extremely limited spaces. The QRP version uses PolyStealth-26, a black PE jacketed #26 stranded copper clad antenna wire. Carabiners are provided to allow easy connection to supporting rope or suitable devices. The antenna performs very well in a sloper configuration with the feed point near the earth. In this configuration the SWR typically dipped to 3:1 on the ham bands. A quality antenna tuner such as LDG will easily provide a 50 ohm match to the transceiver. Since the coax shield serves as the counterpoise for the radiating element, a minimum length of 30 feet is suggested. While not required for operation, a ground post is provided for those who want to experiment with a radial system.
